Parent of the Year
Application for 2017

Parent of the Year Award is intended to highlight a parent or parental figure who exemplifies positive parenting behaviors and role modeling. We are looking for the unsung hero who holds her/himself to a higher standard of parenting and manifests the true behavior of a supportive and engaged parent.
Nominee must be a current or former Migrant/Seasonal Head Start parent.
Nominee must be an active, or formerly active, volunteer in her/his local program
Nomination packet must include letters of recommendation/support from Center Director and Parent Involvement Coordinator/Specialist, as well as any other letters you feel would be of value.
Nominating program must be current with NMSHSA agency dues (application and membership dues can be included with award application).
Nominator must submit all required application materials via e-mail (PDF) to: email@example.com
All applications can be filled out and submitted by either an individual or by someone who is nominating the individual for the award.
All applicants must follow the specific criteria for each award application and submit all supporting documentation with their application for it to be considered complete and eligible.
All nominating programs must be current with their Annual Agency dues (application and Agency dues can be included with award application).
Applicants and/or nominating program are responsible for ensuring the application is submitted via email by the specified deadline on August 28, 2015. Please submit your applications to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications and all attached narratives are to be completed in NO LESS than 12 point type (font size 12).
Nominating program must agree to pay travel costs associated with each winner receiving and award at the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association 2015 Parent Conference in San Francisco, California.

Each award winner will receive an award’s packet and their names will be place on a commemorative plaque in the national office.
